what's up everybody I'm back with
another video
I was getting so many questions on my
last video
on the material that I used to study for
the securities
industry essentials exam
so I thought that I'd make another video
like a q an answering your guys
questions
on that so first things first the
a program that I used to study for
the sie was training consultants
training consultants, you can go online
and register for their course
I believe it was 150 to
get into the course and what comes with
it is the mail you
a hard textbook and
so that's nice and then in the actual
program
it's super user friendly it has each
chapter
that is going to be discussed on the
test
it's broken down by each chapter in each
section
once you get logged into the training
consultants and
as you work on each section at the end
of the section, there's a quiz
where uh it basically tests your
knowledge and if you get like a green
score
on the quiz, you're able to continue to
the next section and that's basically
saying that you're familiarized with
material
if you get a red score it's basically
saying that it wants you to go back
and review certain sections it'll
actually show you
which sections do you need to improve in
it it goes by like a percentage so
that was helpful and then also
in training consultants, they have a
study calendar
so you basically set the days where you
have time to study
so for me, I started my course
July 2020
and uh
basically my what my how I did it was i
studied Monday through Friday
I chose to study in the morning time so
um I was very fortunate and thankful
that the job that I have I work
with the financial advisor and he's my
boss and so
he basically is paying for me to go
through these courses and get licensed
to be a financial advisor as well
and so he's encouraged me to study while
I'm at work
so at work, I was able to study from
my schedule was between 8 and 10
Monday through Friday if like for some
the reason I wasn't able to study for that
long like if I was able to just go from
eight to nine
I would pick up studying at the end of
the day
from four to five because my shift is
from eight to five
so get some studying done in the morning
get some studying done in the evening
and anything that I don't get done that
week
when the weekend comes I would make time
to kind of make up
certain uh topics that I didn't get a
chance to cover
in that week so you really choose your
own schedule
and with that you pick your test date so
my
test date was I planned to test in
December
of 2020 but when December came
um at work we have a whole bunch of
clientele that we
give Christmas gifts to each year and so
my job is to
wrap the gifts so when December came i
didn't really have enough time to study
on top of the extra stuff of the
Christmas gifts that month
so I actually took like a Christmas
break
picked back up in January and spent all
of January studying
and then I went and took my first exam
in February
and I got a 69 percent
and you need a 70 to pass so that was
that was tough failing the first time
but I'm actually going to do a different
video talking about
my failures because I failed two times
and on the third time is when i
passed and so I can go into more detail
on what I did differently in another
video but
this video is just basically explaining
the training consultants course
and the other material that I used so
yeah that study is super helpful
um also in training consultants there is
a glossary
that you can reference I ended up
printing out
uh my glossary pages and I put it in a
separate binder so that it was easy for
me to just reference certain things
while I'm taking my quiz or something
like that
the instructor of training consultants
her name is tina and so
once you get in there tina talks to you
for about the first half of the course
and then the second half another guy
takes over and so it's like a different
voice
I liked it uh I shopped around for
different
uh programs to use for my life insurance
the license I went with Kaplan and I liked
Kaplan for that
but I would say, training consultants
it was just a different system
um
and but between Kaplan and training
consultants i
I liked training consultants i
even though I didn't pass so my first
time or my second time I still
enjoyed using that program um
hijack come here this is my dog jack
but um so yeah I used training
consultants and then another resource i
used was
amazon sie flashcards
um there were fifty dollars on amazon
and they come on perforated paper and
there was
I want to say more than 50 flashcards
that came and basically on those flash
cards it
helped you to study for the test because
that was one thing that I learned when i
was studying for the sie
was it was one thing to go through the
program of training consultants and get
all the terms down
but when it came to studying for the
actual exam
you there's a different material that is
required to do that because you're
you're studying how to take a test and
that was something that was like a
the turning point for me when I did get
ready to study
I realized like I had the foundation of
background knowledge but now I need to
know how to
test and so these flashcards help me
read questions differently but um
I also would suggest you find a
mentor
or some type of teacher that can have
taken the test already
or that's in this industry already who
can help you
even more, because that was one thing
that my
a boss who's a financial advisor was very
helpful
on like he was able to teach me how to
test take
because he's a former teacher and so he
kind of was teaching me how to do
process of elimination and when you go
to do a multiple-choice test but not
only that
when you read the question really
understand the question
and really take out the terms and
understand what they're asking and so
that
that took some time
studying how to test or how to prepare
for the test
so um amazon flashcards and also
a whole bunch of online free sie
practice exams
I would suggest you guys take those
because
test-taking and just getting in that
groove
of sitting down for that long
on top of that, I believe the test
was an hour and a half with 85 questions
10 experimental questions so that's a
long time
so being able to just get into the
the rhythm of taking a test and sitting down
for that long
is super important um I was able to find
a few exes
free exams online that offered the 85
questions
like the Fenner website has a free
practice exam that I would suggest you
guys take
but it provides the same questions over
and over again it
doesn't change the test so that is only
helpful for a few times
but as far as like other resources just
google
free online sie exams
and they'll have exams that maybe are
only 10 questions
15 questions but it's something
so even if you have to pay I didn't pay
for practice exams
but I'll link below I'll put below in
the description a whole bunch of links
of
practice exams that I took so I hope
that'll be helpful for you
and um
other than that that was really it
training consultants amazon flashcards
and
practice tests were the material that i
used to study
for the same and if you guys have

about my failures because every time i
failed I failed with a 69
one percent less than the 70 percent
that's needed
so like that took that
brought a different person out of me
like every time I would fail because i
would be so
feeling so defeated knowing I was that
close
and having to wait 30 days to retake the
exam so
I can get into that in another video but
