How to Install Facebook Pixel on Shopify FAST in 2021

this new
apple ios update that's supposedly
supposed to
change the way that we do facebook ads
and the way that we collect data
we've been getting tons of questions
about hey what is this new apple update
how is it going to change the facebook
ads and how do we get around it so in
this video i'm actually going to walk
you through
all those different things and we're
actually going to do a little tutorial a
little step-by-step i'm going to show
you exactly how to set things up
so that you can continue to keep getting
amazing results with your facebook ads
all right so before we jump into that if

all right so with that being the case
let's actually jump
into my screen real quick i'm gonna
minimize my face
let's talk about what is this new ios
update so basically apple
has released this new ios this new
software for their devices and it's
going to impact the way that facebook
receives and collects data and processes
that data right which is going to change
the way that we have to run ads and for
those people on these new ios
devices with this new ios software um
there are going to be people who opt out
of data sharing
right so for those people who are on
those devices and who
opt out of sharing their own data
facebook's going to have to use what
what they call aggregated events
measurement protocol all right to
process these events
and essentially this is just going to be
a workaround in my opinion
to uh to basically help us advertisers
get the same results
that we've been getting even though
this new ios software has new terms and
conditions so it's basically just a
workaround
it's a new protocol that we're going to
use to get around it and still get great
results so i'm not going to dive all the
way deep into that because i know a lot
of you guys are like that's great i
don't really care
how can we fix this right how can we
continue to keep getting great results
with our facebook ads and that's what
i'm going to dive into right now
all right guys so we're in the back end
of our facebook business manager right
now
now i want to start by saying that this
is seeming to be affecting like
different people at different times some
people's ad account are already being
affected
by this software update and some people
it hasn't affected it yet
so it just kind of depends i'm not sure
why that is but it is what it is
right so that's the first thing and then
the second thing is
this update is really going to be
affecting people who are
optimizing a lot of their campaigns for
conversions
right so a lot of e-commerce sites are
going to be affected by this
and really any anyone who's optimizing
their campaigns for conversions
if you're still running ads that are you
know optimizing for video views or
engagement or
traffic campaigns then this update in my
opinion is not really going to going to
up
i'm sorry affect you very much it's
basically just for conversions
right so i just wanted to start by
saying that so basically i'm gonna break
this down into like two
steps all right and i'm gonna make this
as easy as possible for you guys to
follow along and get this uh get this
figured out
the first thing you wanna do is go up to
business.facebook.com
forward slash settings if you go to this
url
and it's and it just says create a
business manager then that means you
haven't created a facebook business
manager yet
and you need to go ahead and create your
facebook business manager okay
once you do and by the way that only
takes like a minute or so it doesn't
take long at all
once you do you'll be able to actually
log in and go to your business settings
now once you get to your business
settings i want you to come down to
brand
safety and then i want you to hit
domains once you get the domains
it's going to tell you that you probably
don't have any domains yet and this is
the first step is we need to verify
your domain on facebook now okay you're
going to verify the domain that you're
actually sending people to
on whatever your website is you're going
to verify that domain
on facebook okay and this is how you do
that you go ahead and click add
and you're going to put the domain so
i'm going to put
ours in here rich from anywhere.com and
i'm going to add the domain
okay when you do that what i've noticed
that nothing happens you just need to go
ahead and just refresh your screen
and then typically it will show up here
now when you first do this you're going
to see a red dot and that means it
hasn't been verified yet
so we're going to need to do that right
now and you're going to need to actually
log into wherever you bought your domain
name from
uh whether it's godaddy or whatever
right so
it's got some instructions right here
and so what we're going to do is we
actually have our
our rich from anywhere was bought from
godaddy so i'm going to show you guys
how
to actually verify this right now you're
going to log into whatever
domain registrar you you bought your
domain from
and you're going to need to access your
dns records so you're going to manage
your dns records
and then we're going to add this txt
file so what we're going to do is we're
going to click this we can copy it
okay and then if you're in godaddy then
it's going to look
pretty much like this when you go into
your domains and then find the domain
and then scroll down to where it says
manage dns
just like this now what you're going to
do in your dns management is you're
going to come all the way down and
you're going to click
add like this and what we're going to do
is we're going to add
a txt we're going to make the host a
little
at symbol just like this and then we're
gonna go ahead and
paste that facebook domain verification
link
from facebook and then we're gonna click
save like this
and then once we do that you should see
that it adds it right here
and i'm going to go ahead and just
refresh and then i'm going to pop back
over to facebook right here and then
i'm going to click verify now as you can
see rich from anywhere has been verified
so we're going to click done
and then you'll see it's still red so
again just refresh your screen
and when you refresh your screen you
should see boom it's it's green now it's
verified
cool so now at this point you have
verified your domain
with facebook so that part's good we're
going to move on to the second step
the second step is we actually have to
configure
the web events that we want to be able
to optimize for now this is the big
change
right before we could pretty much
optimize for whatever event that we want
automatically and we didn't have to do
anything
now we actually have to configure which
events
we want to optimize for and we have to
add them manually
to our pixel okay so we're going to
actually do that by going over
to our events manager all right so now
we're in our events manager
and i just want to point out to you if
you come to your events manager
and you don't see any options about web
configuration or web events
configurations and it looks basically
just like this
then i think that at this point then
that means that you haven't been
affected
by this yet or it hasn't updated to your
account yet and you really don't need to
worry about anything at this point so
you would actually be good
at this point but whenever it does take
effect it's going to look like um
it's going to look a little different
and i'm actually going to pull up a
different account so you guys can see
uh the difference here all right so
if you come to your events manager and
you basically see
this screen right and you can kind of
see where it says all these different
events right here
and it says pixel conversion api and
it's basically looking like this then
that means that
your account basically been affected by
this software update and you need to go
ahead and
you know add these events to your domain
so you can optimize for them
this this little section right here this
is the aggregated events measurement and
this is where
we're actually going to configure the
web events that we want to optimize for
once you come to this
page you're going to see the domain that
we already verified
right and you can see that right here
what you're going to do is you're going
to click on it
and then it's going to basically you're
going to be able to edit the events
that you actually want to add to this
domain you can see this little box and
then we'll click edit
and on this page right here this is
where we're actually going to add the
events
that we want to be able to optimize for
and we have to do this manually
and by the way with this new update
we're allowed to put in
up to eight events for each domain
and what you're going to do is you're
going to come to your domain and select
the pixel
that you want to collect the data on and
then when you get to the event name
section it's going to actually pop up
all the different events that have
already happened
on this pixel right and then what you're
going to do is you're going to go step
by step
and you're just going to start adding
the different events
that you want to be able to optimize for
inside of your conversion campaigns and
we're going to do this step by step
right
and this one right here this is an
e-commerce store so a lot of these
events these are e-commerce based right
view content add carts
add payment info initiate checkout
purchase
another thing that you're going to want
to pay attention to is
you want to actually put them in order
from highest priority
so when we're running an e-commerce
store you know the most valuable
thing that we can have is a purchase
right so we want to actually put that as
highest priority
and then we want to start actually
organizing everything in descending
order so we want to think about the
whole entire
process and which what what is the most
valuable
in descending order right and and that's
kind of what we're doing right here is
we're just going to
organize these so that facebook
basically knows which
events are more valuable for us then
once we've added all the events that we
want to add
we're pretty much just going to hit
submit and then go ahead and apply all
of those and once you've done that now
all of the events
that we just added to this domain are
going to be available for us to optimize
for
okay now i know if you're just getting
started and you're just kind of like
kind of new to facebook ads a lot of
this might be going over your head
but essentially what we just did is if
if you go into your ads manager and
you're
looking to run a campaign and you select
conversions
and when you get to the section where it
actually asks you
what type of conversion event you want
to optimize for if you haven't done this
step and you haven't
added the events manually to it facebook
will tell you hey this event has not
been added to this domain and you need
to add it
manually okay but once you've done this
and you've actually created all these
events
on the domain you will then be able to
go and optimize
for any one of those events anyway guys
